The Story Behind Mentoring Medic
Mentoring Medic was born from within the healthcare system. Not as a company created to sell surgeries, but as a response to a reality that its founders observed firsthand within clinics and surgical processes.
Its founders, Beatriz Hincapié and Eliana Valencia, met while working at a clinic: Beatriz as administrative and financial director, and Eliana leading the commercial area. From there, they began to observe something that deeply concerned them.
Many patients arrived for surgery with very little guidance and almost no real support. Clinics handled the surgical procedure, but the process surrounding the surgery was full of gaps.
Patients who received answers days later. People traveling alone from other countries. Women staying in hotels or Airbnbs without knowing whom to turn to during their recovery.
Initially, the company was created to organize the administrative and tax structure of medical fees. But they quickly understood that the real problem was something else: a lack of comprehensive patient advice.
A support model where the patient not only chooses a surgery but goes through an organized process of information, logistics, and care.
With the project's growth, they decided to create their own recovery house after seeing cases of patients staying in places without adequate post-operative conditions.
Today, Beatriz continues to lead the administrative and financial structure and direct patient advisory, while Eliana directs the communication and social media area alongside an interdisciplinary team.
Patient safety always takes precedence over closing a surgery.
