Complications Policy Policy

Informative extract from the terms and conditions.

The Complications Policy is a contract entered into between the patient and an insurance company legally incorporated in Colombia.

Its purpose is to cover medical expenses arising from clinical complications following a covered aesthetic procedure.

What this policy is

It is a financial safeguard against unforeseen medical events within a limited period.

Mentoring Medic acts solely as a facilitator in the administrative activation prior to the procedure.

It is not a guarantee of results, it does not eliminate surgical risks, and it does not cover aesthetic dissatisfaction.

1. Coverage Period

The policy is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the surgical procedure.

Coverage applies only to medical complications diagnosed within that period.

Complications detected or diagnosed after day 31 will not be covered.
If a complication is diagnosed within the first 30 days, treatment may be extended in accordance with the terms of the insurance contract for up to 360 days.

2. What the Policy Covers

The policy exclusively covers medical complications related to the patient's health, such as:

  • Post-surgical infections.
  • Clinically significant hematomas.
  • Thromboembolism.
  • Pulmonary embolism.
  • Tissue necrosis.
  • Hemorrhages.
  • Severe adverse reactions.
  • Other medically diagnosed complications in accordance with the policy terms.
Coverage includes hospital expenses, medical fees, and treatments arising from the covered complication, up to the maximum insured limit.

3. What the Policy Does NOT Cover

  • Revision surgeries or aesthetic touch-ups.
  • Dissatisfaction with the cosmetic result.
  • Mild non-pathological asymmetries.
  • Adjustments for subjective expectations.
  • Additional procedures not related to a medical complication.
  • Complications diagnosed after day 31 following surgery.
  • Aesthetic expenses not related to health.
The policy is designed to protect health, not to guarantee aesthetic results.

4. Coverage Limits

Coverage operates up to the maximum insured amount contracted for each procedure.

This value constitutes the total indemnity limit per event and per patient.

Once the insured limit is exhausted, any additional expenses must be borne by the patient.
The insured sum does not guarantee the absence of additional expenses in complex clinical scenarios.

5. Activation Conditions

For the policy to be valid:

  • It must be issued before the procedure.
  • The premium must be paid.
  • The procedure must be performed in an authorized institution.
  • Suspicion of complication must be reported within the established deadlines.
Activation is subject to medical audit by the insurer.

6. Limitation of Liability

Mentoring Medic does

  • Facilitate the administrative acquisition of the policy.
  • Verify its issuance prior to the procedure.
  • Provide guidance in case of activation.

Mentoring Medic does not

  • Is an insurer.
  • Guarantee claim approval.
  • Assume direct payment of medical expenses.
The insurance contractual relationship is entered into exclusively between the patient and the insurance company.

7. Final Transparency Declaration

The Complications Policy is a financial safeguard against unforeseen medical events within a limited period.

It is not an indefinite warranty extension.

It does not cover aesthetic results.

It does not eliminate the medical responsibility of the treating professional.

Cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure with inherent risks.

The policy protects health, not aesthetic expectations

Understanding the real scope of coverage allows you to make decisions more clearly, know its limits, and act promptly in the face of any medical complication within the established validity period.
